Our trip to England
From the 7th to the 14th September more than 40 Jergym students went on a week tour to the UK.
We arrived in Oxford on Sunday and visited parts of the college grounds like Merton College and Christ Church with its famous dining hall. In the evening, we met our kind host families. Thanks to them, we got the chance see British culture up close and improve our English.
The next day, we went to the luxurious Windsor Castle and paid our respects to the late Queen.
On Monday, we stopped by Avebury, a Neolithic henge monument, afterwards we headed to the beautiful town of Bath to see the fascinating history of the Roman baths and the lovely shops.
On the following day, we went to see Shakespeare’s home in Stratford-upon-Avon, and we also had the opportunity to try some classic fish and chips!
The day after, we went to the place many were very excited for, The Harry Potter Studios. We had the chance to see the sets, costumes and all the filmmaking techniques used.
On our last day, we sadly said our goodbyes to our host families and headed to the most exciting part of the trip - London! We saw all the important sights such The London Eye, The Elisabeth Tower with Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and Buckingham
Palace before setting off on the journey back home. Surprisingly, all the way through we were very lucky with the weather.
My classmates and I were happy to be a part of this trip as we had seen so much and had such a splendid time.
